BYD announced on Wednesday that it has begun sales of its electric sports utility vehicle Atto 3 in the UK. The Chinese electric vehicle giant plans to open four stores with local dealers in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, and Milton Keynes later this month, marking its expansion into the UK’s passenger car segment. BYD has a decade-long history of selling green buses in the UK. The compact electric crossover offers a range of 420 kilometers (261 miles) at a starting price of £36,490 ($43,250). BYD has been delivering three new EV models across seven European countries since late last year, and while it is reportedly in talks to take over a factory from Ford in Germany, the carmaker is also considering building its own plant in Europe.
