Geely and Changan have signed a cooperation framework agreement which the two Chinese automakers said would facilitate both of them to upscale globally by joining hands in areas ranging from new energy vehicles to intelligent technology, according to a Tuesday announcement. The unexpected tie-up announcement, which revealed few details, comes just two months after Changan launched a public dispute with Geely, alleging it had copied its EV car design for the latter’s Galaxy EV lineup launched on Feb. 23. Geely, Volvo’s parent company, is rushing to begin deliver of the first model under the new marque by the end of the current quarter, with the new vehicle expected to have a similar price range to that of Deepal, an EV sub-brand launched by Changan.
