Li Auto is intensifying its hiring efforts to attract top engineers and computer scientists as part of its ongoing drive to accelerate the in-house development of electric vehicles with automated driving capabilities, 36Kr reported Thursday citing industry insiders. The Chinese EV manufacturer recently recruited an expert in deep learning and computer vision from Huawei, although the individual’s name remains undisclosed. This move is aimed at bolstering Li Auto’s intelligent driving software update. The company is also requiring assistance from its employees in identifying talented individuals, as stated in the report. On April 18, Li Auto announced its plans to commence internal testing of the city driving function of its AD Max assisted driving system by June. Additionally, the company aims to roll out a software update across 100 cities in China by the end of the year. This update will enable Li Auto vehicles to navigate on both Chinese highways and busy urban streets. [36Kr, in Chinese]
