Poor sales performance has led Ford Mustang Mach-E to merge its China sales channel with that of Changan Ford, according to Chinese media outlet Yicai. Ford Mustang’s sales staff will be reassigned to other divisions of Ford in China, namely Jiangling and Changan, the report stated. Some employees will not have contracts renewed, while voluntary redundancy will be encouraged. Ford’s Mustang Mach-E only sold 60 units in the first four months of 2023, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. Previous reports have suggested that sales of the Ford Mustang Mach-E will halt in the third quarter of this year. Despite the upheaval, a company spokesperson said “We have no plans to terminate Ford Mustang Mach-E operations.” [Yicai, in Chinese]
