Chinese phone brand Honor is reportedly planning a return to the Indian phone market, having withdrawn last June amid tightening scrutiny and geopolitical tensions. Honor’s Indian distribution partner PSAV Global has negotiated with former Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth to manage the Indian marketing team for the former Huawei subsidiary as part of its return, according to Indian media outlet ET Telecom. Based in Noida, PSAV Global distributes Honor-branded devices, including laptops, tablets, and smart wearables. Sheth, who currently serves as Realme’s vice president for business and global corporate strategy, declined to comment on the reports. On June 10, it was reported that Honor had filed in India to trademark Honor C1, the company’s self-developed chip which is intended to intensify 5G signals in phones. [ET Telecom]
