TSMC is preparing for trial production of 2-nanometer chips for Apple and Nvidia by sending 1,000 researchers to its Fab 20 wafer fabrication plant, which is still under construction in Hsinchu Science and Industrial Park in Taiwan. The facility will start mass production of 2nm products in 2025. TSMC’s 2nm chips will be 10-15% faster than its 3nm chips using the same power voltage, and consume 25-30% less power than 3nm chips if they process at the same speed. [CLS, in Chinese]
