On Wednesday, Chinese AR device maker Xreal (fomerly Nreal) unveiled its AR glasses Xreal Air and display adapter Xreal Beam at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2023. The two devices are compatible with a range of smart terminals including mobile phones, tablets, computers, and game consoles. Equipped with Xreal’s self-developed operating system Nebula, the AR glasses support 3DoF (three degrees of freedom), which allows a virtual display to remain fixed in place. The device detects head movement and positions objects based on this movement data, resulting in a fixed screen that enables users to move their heads and look at other objects without the screen obstructing the view. Additionally, Xreal announced plans to launch an independent movie system with pre-installed domestic mainstream video apps, allowing users to watch videos without needing to connect to other portals.
