Chinese state-owned automaker Chery Auto plans to establish manufacturing plants in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, according to an announcement by Chery’s Executive Vice General Manager Qu Jizong at the China-ASEAN Forum on Emerging Industries on July 4-5. These plants are designed to serve as production hubs for a range of vehicle models including internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and battery electric vehicle models.
