Chinese telecom giant Huawei unveiled the latest version of its Pangu large model on July 7 at its annual Developer Conference. Known as Pangu 3.0, the model series is specifically designed for various industries, according to Zhang Ping’an, executive chairman and CEO of Huawei Cloud, with special focus on government affairs, finance, mining, railroads, and meteorology. Zhang said that the Pangu model is not designed for “writing poems”, but rather for “reshaping” across different sectors. While the large model is not accessible to individual users, its hierarchical design enables enterprises and scientific institutions to build their own models based on dedicated datasets.
