AMD CEO Lisa Su said on Tuesday that global AI adoption is set to expand rapidly, predicting that around five billion people worldwide will use AI daily by 2030. Speaking at AMD’s AI Developer Day in Shanghai, Su said the industry is at a critical turning point, adding that AI is not hype but a foundational technology driving long-term demand for computing infrastructure.
Su said AMD employs more than 4,000 engineers across its major research and development centers in Greater China, and has established AI hubs in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Taipei. She also forecast a dramatic surge in global computing demand over the coming years, saying overall requirements could increase 100-fold, reaching up to the 10 yottaFLOPS scale. [TechNode reporting]
