A demonstration video of Project Swan, the next-generation mixed-reality headset from ByteDance-owned Pico, has been leaked through a publicly accessible SDK. Based on the video, the headset’s rear head strap appears nearly identical to the solo knit band used on Apple’s Apple Vision Pro, while the facial interface and forehead cushion closely resemble those seen on Samsung’s Galaxy XR.
The video also shows an external module accompanying the headset. Its design is similar to the battery pack used by the Apple Vision Pro, although its exact purpose remains unclear. It could function as an external battery pack, or potentially house some of the device’s computing hardware.
The footage suggests the headset will support tracked controllers that look similar to those shipped with the Pico 4 Ultra. The controllers appear to support boundary-drawing functionality similar to that found on Meta’s Meta Quest devices. However, it is not yet known whether the controllers will be included in the retail package. [IThome, in Chinese]
