After expanding into e-commerce and group-buying—two key pillars of the local services sector—Doubao, the AI assistant app developed by ByteDance, is now moving further into the instant mobility space. On Monday, the “Doubao app taxi-hailing beta test” climbed to the top of Weibo’s trending list.
On social media platforms, users reported that Doubao is currently testing a ride-hailing feature within the app. By entering a travel request in the chat interface, the system can automatically identify pickup and drop-off locations and match users with available vehicles. The service is reportedly powered by ride-hailing provider Caocao Mobility.
Currently, a limited number of users in Beijing and Hangzhou have been granted access to the beta test, allowing them to book rides within the Doubao app with a one-click taxi-hailing function. [TechWeb, in Chinese]
