In an event blending intelligent automotive engineering with the ethos of wilderness exploration, JETOUR hosted some of the brand friends for an interesting conversation with world-renowned explorer Ed Stafford, off-road demonstration, and official vehicle handover ceremony in Harbin, China.

Joined by senior executives—including Ke Chuandeng, President of JETOUR International, and Yan Jun, Executive Vice President of JETOUR International—the event brought together brand friends to experience the capabilities of JETOUR’s latest off-road lineup firsthand.

Testing Boundaries: Off-Road Performance

The event kicked off at a campsite, where brand friends joined Stafford, Ke, and Yan for an interactive field dialogue. The discussion focused on the intersection of modern vehicle design, off-road capabilities, and survival skills.
Addressing why JETOUR selected Stafford—the first person to hike the entire length of the Amazon River and host of several Discovery Channel series—Ke emphasized alignment in core values.

“The G700 is more than just a vehicle; it represents the courage to explore and go further. When we thought about who truly embodies the spirit of the G700, Ed was among the first to come to mind,” Ke stated. “For decades, Ed has navigated rainforests, deserts, and remote terrains worldwide. That passion for extreme exploration is precisely the philosophy behind the G700.”

Ke revealed that Stafford decided to purchase a G700 after driving it during the filming of Adventure of Extremes.

Reflecting on his experiences with the vehicle across various international locations, Stafford noted the SUV’s versatile performance.

Stafford said he was impressed with the ability to go to different places, when asked about his experience with the G700.

“I was impressed with the car’s ability to go to different places. I’ve had it in the sand dunes, huge sand dunes in Morocco. I’ve been up sort of rainforest covered mountains in Ecuador. I have been in desert conditions again, but sort of flat arid deserts in Colombia. Where else? Iceland. Obviously, the extreme cold of Iceland, and the car’s been able to handle everything,” he said.

“That’s the main thing, and it ties in with the values and the spirit of exploration because it’s not just a car for one thing; it’s a car for all exploration to all different places. And I think, in terms of the brand collaboration, I’m very happy to partner with Jetour, not just because it’s an amazing car,” he said.

“I do obviously share this desire to help people access wild places, and I think it’s very wholesome for people to spend more time outdoors, less time glued to their phones, more time hiking in the mountains. It’s a good reset for everyone in a world where everyone is very occupied with social media,” he said.

Ke concurred and said, “Exactly! I have G700 with me now. Every weekend, I never stay in the house. I always take any opportunity to drive my car out of the city to find some place I’ve never visited to try the car, to refresh my mind.”

“But before that, before I have the G700, I just stay in the house. The G700 has brought me a new life,” he quipped.

During the conversation with brand friends, Yan also detailed the technical specifications and testing standards behind the G700 platform.
Positioned as a luxury hybrid off-road SUV, the G700 is built on JETOUR’s GAIA Architecture. Designed to balance off-road performance with passenger comfort, the vehicle comes equipped with three professional off-road differential locks as standard equipment to handle complex terrain.

Addressing the role of real-world testing in product development, Yan underscored JETOUR’s global validation process.

“Laboratory testing gives us baseline data, but real-world environments are where vehicles must prove their reliability,” Yan explained. “We have established a unified global testing system where our vehicles have completed over 10 million kilometers of validation across extreme heat, cold, humidity, and high altitudes. We also conduct localized testing in each target market prior to launch.”

Following the conversation at the campsite, brand friends were given opportunities in a test ride and drive session on off-road tracks to evaluate the G700’s handling and terrain management systems.
