Huawei has previewed a hardware-level privacy display for its Mate XT2 tri-fold smartphone, allowing users to activate the feature with a double tap on the outer screen. The display remains clear from the front while narrowing visibility from wider side angles.
Huawei says the feature addresses privacy concerns when using a large foldable in public places such as airports and high-speed trains. The Mate XT2 is already open for reservations in China and is scheduled to launch on Sept. 7. [IT Home, in Chinese]
