Huawei’s upcoming Mate 90 series may use SmartSens image sensors across multiple camera modules, according to Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station. The tipster said the standard model may use a 50MP SC575XS sensor with a 1/1.56-inch format, while higher-end models may use a 50MP SC595XS sensor with a 1/1.28-inch format. Both are reportedly compatible with SmartSens’ newer LOFIC technology.
The Mate 90 Pro Max is also rumored to feature a 200MP SCC85XS periscope telephoto sensor with a 1/1.28-inch format. The sensor would reportedly be SmartSens’ first high-end 200MP image sensor developed through a fully domestic design, process and production chain.
Huawei has not confirmed the camera specifications or the launch schedule. Earlier reports have pointed to a late-September launch for the Mate 90 series. [Digital Chat Station on Weibo, in Chinese]
