Moffett AI, a Shenzhen-based developer of AI inference chips, announced on November 3 that it had completed nearly RMB 1 billion in Series C+ funding. The financing follows another round of nearly RMB 1 billion approximately five months earlier.
The proceeds will support upgrades to its sparse-computing inference chips, research into next-generation processors, and collaboration with research institutions and industry partners. Sparse computing reduces the calculations required to run AI models by exploiting sparsity in their data and operations.
Moffett AI said it has deployed inference clusters across four regions in China and partnered with telecommunications operators. Its next-generation SP200 accelerator card is scheduled to arrive before the end of the year. [PE Daily, in Chinese]
