Meituan, China’s daily deal site founded by serial entrepreneur Wang Xin, topped the list of Chinese group-buying sites in terms of customer satisfaction, according to report by DCCI, Data Center of the China Internet.

The report shows that 61% of Internet users have participated in group buying activities while only 4% have never heard about it. Group buying services with strong brand awareness, good will and product quality guaranteed are preferred by customers.

We wrote about how group-buying sites manipulate sales number to trick  potential customers to buy. While Meituan and Nuomi, another group buying service by Renren.com, took lead in introducing a series of campaigns to safeguard consumers’ interests.

Meituan also introduced some other commitments to protect its customers, for instance, consumers who bought a deal can claim back the money if they do not make any consumption within seven days; it will pay the bills of which consumers are not satisfied with.

China Group Buying Statistics Report published by daily deal aggregator tuan800.com in June showed that meituan.com also topped the list in terms of overall strength.
