The latest rumor about the launch day of Kindle devices in China is June 7, including Kindle e-readers (Paperwhite Wifi & Paperwhite 3G) and Kindle Fire. Amazon will not only sell devices on its own official site, but also on Suning.com. Amazon’s counter has been spotted in one of Suning’s brick-and-mortar shops in Beijing.

Amazon actually went through a hard way. It is reported that Kindle was supposed to launch China by the end of last year, but it was postponed again and again. The Kindle system began to support Chinese last November. One month later Amazon China added ‘Kindle Store’ along with reading apps and Chinese Kindle books. The Kindle book store is operated under Chineseall, a Chinese digital publishing service. Then there came  many obstacles including regulatory challenges for its e-book business from the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP). It took some time for Amazon China to solve. In early this year, online storage service Cloud Drive, Amazon Appstore for Android and developer program went live.

Update: The page for Kindle sales on Amazon China went live but later removed on June 5.  As shown on the page, Kindle Paperwhite is priced at 849 yuan and and Kindle Fire HDs are for 1499 yuan (16GB) and 1799 yuan (32GB).
