HWTrek, the Taiwan-based smart hardware platform offering services from product design to funding/crowdfunding, has launched a collaboration tool, called HWTrek Project Development Hub (the Hub), for consumer hardware makers.

Different from existing average project management tools, the Hub enables collaboration with, apart from team members and partners, experts at HWTrek.

The major selling point of the HWTrek platform is it has a group of experienced experts who used to work in the digital electronics manufacturing industry across Asia. They’ll help makers with product design, manufacturing or even sales and marketing. With the Hub, makers can invite experts at any stage when needed.

If a registered maker links his or her HWTrek Draft when filling out the questionnaire, the Hub will auto-fill applicable project details.

Launched in September 2013 as a crowdfunding site and community for the new generation of hardware products, HWTrek has had more than 1400 registered makers and 410 projects created on the platform. The number of aforementioned experts has reached 217. Those experts have contributed more than 800 solutions.
