The 2018 Asia Hardware Battle Chennai and Hyderabad was successfully completed and will be ramping up for AHB India Finals in Delhi on September 29.
After several rounds of fierce competition, we finally selected the six startups to represent Chennai and Hyderabad at the final in India before taking the world stage in Asia Hardware Battle Shanghai Finals.
In this competition, six startups rose above all others and proved extraordinary through a series of stringent evaluation and step-by-step screening by several prominent judges: Mr. Jay Krishnan (Advisor of Sri Capital), Mr. Sreekanth Perepu (Investment Director of Hyderabad Angels), Mr. Puru Modani (Angel Investor of Mumbai Angels), Mr. Sam Mehta (Managing Director of Atlas Venturez), Mr. Sundar Visvanathan (Charter Member of TiE Chennai), and Mr. Vijai Shankar Raja (MD & CEO of HELYXON Healthcare). Here are the startups that successfully made it to the finals in Delhi this year and a highlight of the seven other participating innovations:
Hyderabad City Winners:
iSquare Mobility—KiteBoard
KiteBoard is a ready-to-use compute and connectivity module which enables OEMs, entrepreneurs, and makers to build custom connected devices/appliances for vertical-specific IoT applications. It is a platform for building mobile devices, connected embedded systems, and IoT solutions.
Wozart—Aura Switch
Aura Switch is a retro-fit wireless Home Automation device. Once Installed users will be able to control and monitor their lights and other home appliances through their smart devices with a tap or a simple voice command from just about anywhere in the world.
Pregnitive Technologies—Suno
Suno is a portable, pocket-sized device which connects to your mobile and enables you to listen to your baby’s heartbeat during pregnancy from the comfort of your home. Suno lets you record and share your baby’s heartbeat with your loved-ones and cherish these wonderful moments. Proelium Analytics (Factoryisupport)—Intuitive Industrial On-Demand Support Platform (IIOT)
Proelium IIOT Ecosystem consists of smart sensors that are incorporated with the industrial assets. Platforms consist of middleware that serves the connectivity of edge hardware with other value chain players.

Innominds is a dedicated product incubator for technology-focused clients seeking help with Design, Technology, and Engineering across all stages of their product lifecycle. It is emerging markets driven and focused around the product lifecycle of technology-focused companies. From idea to commercialization, Innominds strives to build convergent solutions that help clients grow their business and realize their market vision.
Ephysx (Hyderabad)
Ephysx is a leading design and manufacturing company focused on developing innovative products and solutions in the field of IoT. Its solutions span multiple industries, including energy, water, fleet management, renewables, automotive, commercial & residential and horticulture. Founded in 2011 as Smarttrack Solar Systems – a manufacturer of indigenous solar tracking solutions, Ephysx quickly became the largest solar tracker manufacturer in India and the preferred partner to leading solar EPC players. Its team of experts has installed solar power plants with an aggregate capacity of more than 400 MW in India and 60 MW overseas, across 200 locations. With the goal of pursuing emerging growth opportunities, the company rebranded as Ephsyx Technologies and expanded business activities to solve wider problems in the IoT market. Within a short time frame, it acquired a number of projects for sensing, monitoring and controlling in a variety of applications across Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems in water management, street lighting, utility metering, battery monitoring, and fleet management.
Nearbuzz (Hyderabad)
Nearbuzz is a cloud-based offline campaign management and audience insights platform which enables brands and agencies to run interactive offline campaigns with real-time triggers. It defines target audience and delivers targeted content in real-time, builds interactive campaigns to engage and collect data, and gets audience insights (demographics, mood, attention span etc.) using its Computer Vision based audience analytics engine.
Startoonlabs (Hyderabad)
Startoon Labs is a technological startup headquartered in Hyderabad. With its qualification and experience in the areas of hardware, firmware, and algorithms design and development, Startoon Labs develops innovative products catering to the current needs of the market. Startoon Labs is recognized by the Government of India under Startup India and supported as MSME unit.
KIOT Innovations (Hyderabad)
KIOT Innovations was established by a bunch of Hyderabad based dreamers who want to make homes better. It is an IoT company which develops, designs, and manufactures automation products. Its products include home automation products, hotel/hospital solutions, agricultural products, and sensors.
Alco Change (Chennai)
AlcoChange is a clinically validated and patented behavioral platform that helps users stay in control and drink responsibly. AlcoChange’s main focus is users’ well being and helps users monitor alcohol consumption by influencing behavior through technology.
Sertel Electronics (Chennai)
Sertel Electronics is an equipment manufacturing company based in the UK (Birmingham) and India (Chennai) . It is a technology-oriented company that focuses on R&D and high tech industrial applications. Sertel is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of highly precise time stamping technologies, solutions for industrial instrumentations.
