Chinese electric vehicle maker Leapmotor is shipping out its T03 small-sized hatchbacks to Israel, marking its first foray into international markets, according to a Thursday statement. A “famous” Israeli car retailer will distribute and sell the 60 Leapmotor vehicles, which the Chinese automaker said have received European Whole Vehicle Type Approval, an essential certification for vehicle license plate registration in all EU countries, without revealing further details. The seven-year-old company delivered 76,563 vehicles in its home market for the first eight months of 2022, and is set to raise more than $1 billion in a public share sale in Hong Kong as early as September.
