Chinese telecoms giant Huawei has announced that it will launch products with end-to-end 5.5G by next year. In a speech entitled Embracing 5G Transformation, Meng Wanzhou, Huawei’s Rotating Chairperson and CFO, told the 2023 Mobile World Congress in Shanghai that the 5.5G network was a transitional phase and discussed moving beyond the 5G era. The company showcased major features that would be advanced with 5.5G connectivity, including 10 Gbit/s downloads, 1 Gbit/s uploads, and what it claimed would be mass connectivity at low cost.
