Alibaba Cloud is prepared for India, says Selina Yuan of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence International – YourStory

What happened: Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group, is looking for partners as it expands its ecosystem in Asia, including India. At the Alibaba Cloud APAC Summit yesterday, Selina Yuan, president of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence International, teased that there will be many new developments coming up in the second half of the year and the company is expecting “multi-fold growth” in India. The cloud provider unveiled ten new enterprise products and features, which are available for the first time outside of China, and launched a new accelerator program that connects technology partners with its ecosystem.

Why it’s important: Alibaba Cloud has been eager to scale its operations beyond China. The new initiatives will help grow its cloud ecosystem and allow entrepreneurs in the APAC region access to the China market. The e-commerce giant sees cloud computing as the technology that underpins its entire Alibaba ecosystem and expects its entire business, from e-commerce to payment, to run on the cloud within two years.
