Jidu Auto, an electric vehicle joint venture from tech giant Baidu and auto major Geely, has become the latest carmaker to commit to using Nvidia’s next-generation computer Drive Orin for its models’ self-driving functions, the two companies announced on Thursday. Jidu reaffirmed its plan to debut a concept vehicle at this year’s Beijing Motor Show in April and to launch its first production model in 2023. Chinese EV pioneers Nio, Xpeng, and Li Auto, as well as SAIC’s premium EV brand IM, have all announced that they will use Nvidia’s computing platforms for their upcoming vehicles.
