Nio is planning to launch refreshed versions of its existing vehicle models later this year with new computing chips in the hope of boosting sales of its current lineup, chief executive William Li said on Friday during an earnings call. Owners of older versions of the vehicles will also get access to new hardware which could provide more advanced in-car features and driving experience, Li added, without revealing further details. Nio on Friday reported revenue of RMB 9.9 billion ($1.5 billion) in the fourth quarter of 2021, up 49% from a year earlier, but just a 1% increase quarter-on-quarter. [Nio release]
