Major Chinese phone maker Oppo released its mid-end series Reno9 in China on Thursday, with prices ranging from RMB 2,499 to RMB 4,399 ($349 to $614). There are three models in the new series, the Reno9, Reno9 Pro, and Pro+, with each having a different processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G, MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, respectively. The series features a 6.7-inch punch-hole display, supporting a 120 Hz refresh rate. One sale point Oppo highlighted is their weight, as the Reno9 and Reno9 Pro weigh only 174 grams, while the Reno9 Pro+ weights 192 grams. As for a camera system, the series is equipped with Oppo’s in-house processor, MariSilicon X, for better performance. Another notable spec is RAM options: The Reno9 Pro and Pro+ offer up to 12 GB RAM, which can handle heavy multitasking on the device. Oppo (including OnePlus) is the fourth largest phone vendor globally by shipments, accounting for 10% of the market in the third quarter of 2022, according to Canalys. [ITHome, in Chinese]
