On Monday, Xiaomi’s Indian subsidiary announced in a statement that the company plans to start production of wireless audio products through a partnership with Indian manufacturer Optiemus Electronics Limited (OEL). Xiaomi will make its first local audio device at Optiemus Electronics’ factory in Uttar Pradesh, reiterating that the company is targeting a 50% increase in the production of components sourced locally in the country by 2025.
