Chinese automakers Dongfeng Motor and BYD are making forays into Japan’s truck and bus market. DFSK, a subsidiary of state-owned Dongfeng, will offer 5,000 small electric trucks to SBS, Amazon’s Japanese logistics partner, Nikkei reported on Monday. The vehicles, cheaper than those of its Japanese competitors, will be used to deliver goods to homes. Separately, BYD looks to sell its buses at a 40% discount to its current price of 40 million yen ($354,120) in Japan. [Nikkei Asia]
