Avatr, a Chinese electric vehicle brand jointly established by Huawei, Changan, and CATL, announced on June 25 that it will launch four vehicle models by 2025. The vehicles will be equipped with Huawei’s car software and hardware, including its operating system Harmony OS and self-driving sensor suite. Avatr’s first production model, the Avatr 11, will go on sale in August and will be delivered to customers by the end of this year. The three companies announced plans to build EVs together in November 2020 with state-owned Changan, the largest shareholder in the car project. [Caixin, in Chinese]
